How
to reach Venice and the Conference venue
Arrival by plane:
connecting Venice Airport
to Piazza San Marco there is a shuttle
boat service until midnight leaving hourly. It costs is Euro 9,81. Venice
Airport is also connected to Piazzale Roma (Venice car terminal).
Upon arrival at Venice Airport, you can take ACTV
bus No 5 leaving every hour at 10' and 40' past (tickets cost Euro 0,77
and can be bought at the newspaper stand inside the airport departure lounge).
Alternatively, a terminal bus (ATVO)
leaves in connection with main flights (tickets cost Euro 2,58 and can be
bought inside the airport arrival lounge). Both buses arrive at Piazzale
Roma -Venice Car Terminal- in about 25 minutes.
From Piazzale Roma, take vaporetto (public
boat) No. 1 or No. 82 to San Marco-Vallaresso stop. From the boat stop,
proceed along Calle Vallaresso and then take Calle Frezzeria (in front of
you). Halfway of down Calle Frezzeria, turn on your left into Piscina Frezzeria
and walk as far as Campo S. Fantin, where Ateneo
Veneto (Campo San Fantin, 1897) is situated on your right hand side.
From Piazza San Marco take Calle Vallaresso and then follow the instructions
above.
Arrival by train: from the
railway station take
vaporetto No 1 or No. 82
to San Marco Vallaresso stop and follow the instructions above.
Arrival by car: the best place
to park is Tronchetto,
the car park island situated just before Piazzale Roma at the end of the
bridge from the mainland. From the car park you can take vaporetto
No. 82 to San Marco Vallaresso stop and follow the instructions above.
You can also park your car directly in Piazzale Roma, (Garage Comunale or
Garage San Marco).
