The Santa Margherita Auditorium, which was completely renovated in 1994 by the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, is today one of the city's most beautiful and efficient conference centres. The renovation works were performed in order to preserve its unique internal 'theatre-style' configuration by maintaining the architectural outlines of a hall that was once a place of worship and that during the last century was converted into a hall for theatre and other events.

The Santa Margherita Auditorium has been adequately fitted out to support microphone systems, audio and video recordings, overhead projectors and screens and two simultaneous translation booths. The Auditorium building also has smaller rooms for informal discussion, a public phone and terminals for connecting to Internet for e-mail.
